To Gymbo or not to Gymbo

Today Mason and I attended our first Gymboree class. I'm not quite sure what to make of it. Picture one lady leading a dozen distracted babies and their hovering mothers/nannies/grandmas in activites that include bouncing and clapping to music. I can see the benefit of interaction with other kids at the same developmental level, but we can listen to music, bounce and clap at home without it costing $230 for 12 45-minute weekly sessions. I think Mason was overwhelmed with the noise and activity level, as by the end of class he was crying and wanted to be held. So I'm not sure about Gymboree. We'll see.
